Dumbassery.

If he swung only once, I'd be impressed with his accuracy. That it took him 10 times shows why he's on the Nationwide Tour, I suppose.

The worst thing I ever hit was a flagstick 50 yards down range while warming up for a Futures Tour pro-am event. Problem was the ball that hit it came off of a shanked drive, rattling the flagstick like one of those old-school doorstops. Some pros turned around, saw me, and started to laugh. I responded with a genteel tip of the cap.

I don't golf because my first newspaper boss tried to use it as a way to turn me into his buddies' whipping boy. Buncha elitist assholes. Some good people in golf, but it seems to have more than its share of egomaniacal jerks. So I stay away. I'm sure I'm not missed.

I don't golf because I've just never had an interest in it.

Well don't start now. When this gets out, hawks will be attacking golfers left and right.

I don't golf either, although I took classes in it in HS and college. In fact, the sport seems to have skipped a generation in my family. My father is an avid golfer, but neither my brother or I could get into it.

My brother's three boys, on the other hand....

And BTW, I couldn't believe the first name of the sound engineer quoted in the story. Gad!!
