Chris Myers is so far down the broadcasting totem pole at Fox that he is doing this game instead of **** Stockton. The next step down is Internet only CIF girls water polo quarterfinals.

If people complained about the crowds at the last Rams home game against the Falcons, that game is going to look like live aid compared to tomorrow on Christmas eve.

Jared Goff continues his quest to be the next Ryan Leaf without the attitude or arrests.

Still Market 6 vs Market 2.

I'll take that over doing a Jacksonville-San Diego game.

The 49ers have had Myers and Barber an inordinate number of times this season -- I think it's six or seven games maybe out of the 10 that they've been on Fox.

One priority for the 49ers during their collapse has been to make sure they get broadcasters whispering sweet nothings into the ear of their front office and owner. There has been a lot of talk up here about how the networks never show Jed and how the front office curries favor with national reports and monitors everything said about Jed and them. A couple of weeks ago Chip Kelly skipped out on the pregame interview on the radio flagship, the implication being that the 49ers' play-by-play guy is a Jed/Baalke stooge and Kelly didn't want any part of him.

So along those lines, I wonder if they request Myers because he's such a bootlicker. He definitely tries to talk about how it isn't all going to ****.

The Raiders are being shown on channel 2 opposite the Rams game. The entire country is about to see that the Rams are the second favorite team in Los Angeles when the ratings come out.

I can't think of a franchise in any sport that went downhill faster than the recent 49ers.

Most of us spend holiday parties bitching about the kids, the in-laws and the job.

OOP adds "people on the Internet who aren't nice enough to put up with my boring rants about third-string defensive backs."

Did you/do you write this much fiction when in your career as a journalist?

Do you reckon NBC regrets flexing Lions-Cowboys now the game means nothing for the Cowboys?

Still means something for Lions, and now there's the Romo Watch. I think they're fine with the decision.

That wasn't flexed. That's the Monday nighter and they can't switch days, only times. Denver-KC was always the Christmas night game.

If the Packers close out the win by 3 p.m. CT today, I expect an announcement by 3:02 that GB@Det is the Week 17 prime-time game, as it will be for the division title no matter what happens Monday night.

49ers' radio guy/Baalke honk said today he hopes Christian Ponder plays. Says Baalke: "That's on the coaches."

That's about the speed of every 49ers move since they got tired of/threatened by Harbaugh after the 2013 season. There isn't even a thought toward winning or even playing good football, it's just a matter of making the right people look good or bad.

Earlier this week the Jags picked up a linebacker from the 49ers' practice squad, which was weird because the 49ers have like zero linebackers left but they never called the guy up. Defensive coordinator said the decision was "above my pay grade." General feeling is they don't want the undrafted FA to come in and play better than the guys the front office actually did draft.

The Rams had a 50 yard kickoff return without a holding penalty. I honestly cannot believe it.
