Yeah, making sure not to miss this today. The questions are going to be so high-end smart, I'll be lucky to answer four right all week!

I'll take, "You're all ****ed" for $200, Alex.

PBS did a nice lead-up documentary looking at the process of refining Watson.

I mean, the amount of time it takes a machine to buzz is has to be significantly less than it takes a human to do so, right?

Watson's cleaning up early. I'm sure everyone knows the answers, so he's just able to ring in quicker.

Am I understanding this wrong, or does Watson get multiple-choice answers?

He doesn't get multiple choice. He has to search his databases for the answer. The three things shown are his top 3 guesses and his confidence level on them.

Watson had a brutal second half of the opening round. He's tied at $5,000 with Brad. Ken is at $2,000.

How the hell are they gonna fit in another round plus final Jeopardy in less than 10 minutes?

They're not. They're doing 2 games over 3 days.

Good thing I saw the show before I read the thread... thanks for the spoilers, everyone.

Watson knew there were going to be spoilers on this thread.

The questions weren't as difficult as I had anticipated for this group of contestants. We'll see about tomorrow...

Doesn't take Watson to figure out that a thread about Watson on Jeopardy will talk about what Watson did on Jeopardy.

At one point Watson recited the same (failed) answer given by Ken Jennings.

A glitch, perhaps? :)

Yea, Ken's answer was the top choice among Watson's top three. Obviously, Watson doesn't react to previous answers by the other two, so he just rings in and gives his top answer.

Should be perfect material for Celebrity Jeopardy this week on SNL. Trebek making fun of Watson and Watson and Connery going crazy and trying to kill Trebek.
