Fell and hit his head after getting out of bed too quickly. Should be OK, but still ... A fall at home led to the death of another L.A. icon, Chick Hearn.

Scully is entering his 61st season with the club and, to me, is the greatest announcer of all time.

He's worth the XM subscription every summer. I always try to catch a few innings when possible. My favorite snippet last year was when he described a head-first slide into second as a "belly-whopper"

The best baseball anouncer ever and a great person as well.
Get well soon, Vin

So right about the similarity to Chick. He fell at a gas station a few months before the fall that killed him.

Hope Vin is well soon. Nothing like a hot summer day with Vin while enjoying some Farmer John Sausage

Met Vin about 20 years ago and he's so nice and gracious. Not a Dodgers fan, but I will stop to listen to him on a game anytime.

Some of us feel the same way about Ernie Harwell, but your point is taken...

No one feels that way about John Sterling

This thread has been tainted by the mere mention of John Sterling. Let's add Fran Healy to the mix while we're at it.

Vin, get well good man. We need you back behind the mic.

But he was wasted, wasn't he?
