1-2A class football team here in Kansas.

9-0, and haven't allowed a point this season.

Scores are brutal.

60-0
67-0
66-0
62-0
72-0
72-0
78-0
72-0

and tonight.....the coo de gras

beat a team 83-0.

boxscore

1 2 3 4

Plainville 0 0 0 0--0
Smith Center 72 8 3 0--83

Smith Center forces 6 turnovers in the first quarter......and outgains Plainville 417-7 in the first half.

Outscored their opponents 602-0 so far.

[belichick]WTF happened in the fourth quarter?[/belichick]

Last week, this area had a 3-0 overtime game. Week before that, Montgomery area had a 3-2 game. Futbol capital of the South...

And since it's a Tuesday night, that would make this the first round of the playoffs in Kansas, right Chef?

Is this a high school team?

And what's division 1-2A mean?

This isn't impressive, it's silly.

yep.

Last games go Friday-Thursday-Tuesday-Saturday.

Bizarre last two weeks of the regular season, and first two weeks of playoffs.

Most teams will play 4 games in 15 days.

Yes, high school. Division 1-2A is the smallest 11-man division in Kansas (the largest being 6A). In some sports 1A and 2A are broken up.

But wouldn't it be more appropriate to have these guys play against more worthy opponents?

Sorry, this doesn't make any sense to me.

It's like a hockey house league team competing against a Triple A team. The AAA team will probably win 25-0, but who cares?

They'll have to play some good teams in the playoffs, and if they get to the state finals, they'll probably play Pittsburg-Colgan, which didn't lose a game for five or six years a couple years ago. It's a 32-team playoff bracket, so they played a low seed tonight.

School now 6th nationally with 49 straight wins.

Colgan? Or Smith Center?

Never mind, has to be Smith Center, because I think they're the team that snapped Colgan's win streak a couple years ago.

Ahh, Pittsburg-Colgan: The best team money can buy in the state of Kansas.

Some of the private schools are bad, St. Thomas Aquinas and Bishop Carroll come to mind. But nobody buys state titles better than Colgan.

So they're up by 72 points after one quarter, and go for a conversion in the second quarter?

Yup. They should really have to play in 3A, at least. Haven't been able to buy one for a couple years, though.
