Save hashtags for Twitter. Do not put them on Facebook, unless you want to be seen as a teenage girl or a woman older nearing 30 who still acts like a teenage girl.

What's absurd? You may disagree, but my opinion isn't to NDJournalist level.

One other tip. Don't link your Twitter and Facebook posts. What works on Twitter may not work on Facebook, and vice-versa.

Have hashtags been enabled on some profiles? My wife has a newer version of the Facebook feed than me.
 
Do what you want on social media. Be the person you are. Don't pander to Captain Rovell unless you desperately want people to follow you.
