There's no point in having a station web site if it doesn't include the boob squad.
you know... there's a time and a place for everything, but this ain't it for this one.

THANK YOU!!

Sometimes I really wonder what is wrong with some of you people. A young woman is found, soaked in blood and suffering life-threatening injuries, by her mother and you children want to make boob jokes?

This thread is not the time or place. Take it elsewhere. Good lord, have a little sense of decency!

That train has run off the rails long ago. ****ing pigs. ::)

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Oh, for ****s sake, lighten up. Nothing we say or not say is going to change a damn thing about this. I've read it all here before too. RIP, heart goes out to the family, I don't believe in the death penalty but in this case, blah blah blah blah blah.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Thanks for reminding me why I, for the most part, cannot stand the discourse on Internet messgae boards. This is probably the most disgusting thread I've ever read on here. And from purported professional journalists. Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

I obviously hope she pulls through.

I honestly do not think there is any chance this was a random robbery.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Here is a question...

Out of respect, should the other TV stations back off the story and allow KATV the exclusive?

Maybe agree to not open with the story and allow let her co-workers do the opening story?

There's a difference between talking about her attack and turning this into masturbation nation on the rest of the staff.
Sorry, but IMO this crosses the line.

No.

No one wants an exclusive on something like this. They'll likely end up pooling elements of the coverage to help each other out. At least that's been my experience when tragedy has hit stations in markets where I've worked.

Just because nothing we say is going to impact things doesn't mean you should be a complete horse's ass about it.

Not just your opinion, slappy, but I get the feeling your point is completely lost on some people.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

The story is now up on the web site, btw.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Can someone please delete this thread and start a new one -- one that contains news and some respect for a seriously injured member of the media?

I think we should just continue this one... lets just keep this going in the right direction

Well, it's essentially the same story as at the top of page 1, but IMO my response is the same. There's a special place in hell reserved for people who do this ****.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Not to make light of the situation, but I saw W. yesterday and Ann Coulter was definitely not in it. Her part must've been eliminated in editing.

To get back on track:
I'll be surprised if this is just a random robbery.
Yeah, her purse is missing, but one story I read also said her two dogs were gone as well.
Simple robbery usually doesn't involve that sort of savagery.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

I don't remember an Ann Coulter scene in W, but maybe I'm missing some sarcasm, or maybe I missed the relevant scene.

The only way I could see this being a robbery gone bad would be if the guy was hopped up on drugs. Which I guess I wouldn't rule out.

Now that I think about it perhaps she was supposed to be one of those pundits on the Spinball made-up TV show.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Jodi Huisentruit was the Iowa anchor, who was kidnapped out of her apartment parking lot and has never been found. Every so often a story will pop up with a new lead, but nothing ever comes of it.
