Word around town is that her throat was slit. If you saw W. she played Ann Coulter.

KATV's Anne Pressly attacked in home
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A morning anchor for a Little Rock television station was found in her home early Monday suffering from life-threatening wounds.
Little Rock police say KATV anchor Anne Pressly, 26, was found by her mother at about 4:30 a.m. lying in her bed and bleeding from "severe wounds," Little Rock police spokesman Cassandra Davis said.
Davis said there were no suspects as of mid-morning Monday but that the attack may have come during a robbery, because Pressly's purse was missing. Davis said investigators are talking to friends of Pressly's to find out if she had been threatened.
The last known contact with Pressly was between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Davis said Pressly's mother gives her daughter a wake-up call and went to the house Monday when Pressly didn't answer.
Pressly was taken to St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, where a spokeswoman didn't immediately return a call regarding Pressly's condition.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

damn... nothing on the station's website...

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Initial indication is robbery, according to that story. It's an unconscionable act, no matter what the reason. But I hope to hell that it wasn't some retribution for appearing in "W." (I haven't seen the movie). I worry about an escalation to violence from a whipped up, angry mob.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

In all seriousness, I understand the station's entire staff is gathered at the hospital. I don't think anyone is back at the office updating the website.

The initial police report said Pressly was unconscious when they arrived and that there were signs of broken bones, severe lacerations and possible internal injury. The officer who responded observing bleeding from her head.

Edit: For taste...

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

On a very sad thread, I have to admit, I laughed at the website nonsense. Not sure what to make of that.

Anywho ... that's absolutely insane if someone broke into her home to steal nothing but her purse and then did this to her. Unbelievable someone could do that to another person for what, $50 and some credit cards that will be canceled before they can even be used?

Hopefully she can pull through this.

(And agree with TSP ... it doesn't say she isn't expected to live, just that the injuries are life threatening.)

Probably some whack-job stalker. Wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened to a TV anchor unfortunately.

She's purty, but not as pretty as some other members of the "boob squad" who work there.

Do they have pictures of the "boob squad" on their web site?

No kidding... I have several friends who work in television and you would be stunned/amazed/frightened at some of the correspondence they get from viewers.

I hope she pulls through.

Perhaps Jay knows someone close to the situation.

No indications of that either.

There was a murder here about 10 years ago. TV anchor left her apartment door open so her cat could come in and out. Mentally unbalanced neighbor who had a thing for her walked in and stabbed her to death.

Then there was the woman who worked at a station in Mason City, Iowa who disappeared several years ago. I don't think she's ever been found.

Why does he have to announce it to you?

If you have written a headline that announces a person in the news industry is not expected to live yet neither the story nor anything else from you indicates that, it's outrageous. At the very least, he could write that a little birdy told him.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

A.) word around town is a slit throat.

B.) "life-threatening injuries," which, if you remember, is what Sean Taylor was listed with.

Just saying. It's not like it says she has a broken leg and he wrote "not expected to live."

And seriously, IMO, slappy's right. This is not the place for jokes about "boob squads" or even dragging the Web site thing on any further.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Amazingly huge difference between life-threatening and not expected to live.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Some things just don't need to be joked about.

That said ...

Never mind. I was gonna make a joke about the perp's possible hometown. Only LRSportsJournalists.com would get it.

Re: TV anchor attacked, not expected to live

Is this really the level of discourse around here now?

A journalist is attacked - possibly murdered - and it gets turned into a gallery of cute women who work at the station?

Jesus Christ. This place is ****ing embarrassing some days.

There's no point in having a station web site if it doesn't include the boob squad.
you know... there's a time and a place for everything, but this ain't it for this one.

THANK YOU!!

Sometimes I really wonder what is wrong with some of you people. A young woman is found, soaked in blood and suffering life-threatening injuries, by her mother and you children want to make boob jokes?

This thread is not the time or place. Take it elsewhere. Good lord, have a little sense of decency!

Unfortunately, that seems to be beyond the capacity of some members of this board. I'm with Rosie and PC on this one. Many of the posts on this thread have been disgraceful.
