About two weeks ago I changed the search at the top of the page to a Google search engine. Just trying to get some feedback on whether to keep it or not. Thanks.

I like the old version's "search subject line only" feature.

That said, having both searches available is fine.

I should note, that the old search is still available by clicking "SEARCH" on the blue menu bar near the top of the page.

Is there any way you change the default setting to be SportsJournalists.com rather than the web?

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
I think the current way is fine, but I don't use it enough to really give a hoot one way or the other.

Is that because you rarely find what you're looking for?

That's the case with me. I've given up trying to search for stuff. But I type that without any malice. I accept it. ;D

That would be nice. Too many times I've searched for something on here and absentmindedly didn't check the right button.

I found when we first instituted it that when I logged in and would type in my username, when I tabbed to put in my password it sent the cursor up into the search bar. So it delayed me.

Now I've gotten used to using the mouse to move down a line, so I don't know if that's been fixed or not. But that's why I voted for 'the way it was before.'

I just seldom need to search for anything.

I prefer the old way.
I at least like the probablility factor, although neither way sorts by most recent. For example, a quick search of "albom" (no reason, just first that came to my mind) brings recent posts of specific posters first. Not a search I would think of first.

I think the google search doesn't sort as well and I like the old search capabilities of searching on one board and by thread title, so I voted against it.

But now that Webby says we can use the old search, I figure you should just leave it.

I also would like to see the default changed. As for the existence of the Google searching, I'm fine with it. I have a regular Google search built into my browser, but it's a plus to get the Google approach to searches within SportsJournalists.com.

The regular SportsJournalists.com search seems to find many more results than the Google search
