Sitting behind an iMac. Why?
One year since we launched the last one, might as well start a new one.

USWNT match kicks off in a few minutes from Germany.

And seven Mexican players were sent home from the Copa after being caught with hookers in their room.

It would be nice to be a North Korean sports writer covering today's game. You could have your story written an hour before kickoff and just sit back and enjoy the match.

DRESDEN -- The glorious beauties from our beloved DPR annihilated the hideous round-eyed whores from the USA 17-0 Tuesday in the opening round of the Women's World Cup. The virtuous ladies that represent us all -- led by our own heroic president Lil' Kim, playing in disguise because all the unenlightened Westerners think he has a girl's name -- only took 15 shots on goal. Two were so brilliant, match officials decided to count them twice.

I ain't watching anyway. I got interested in soccer only when they brought those freakin' horns into the arena to make noise. :)

They're not "freakin' horns," they're vugoogonzaloogielaylas. Get it right.

Dear Greg Ryan,
Posted my fourth straight World Cup shutout today. Just wanted to let you know.

Up yours,
Hope Solo

Outstanding.

Slow, slow start, but good work by Hope Solo to keep the Americans in it. Pia Sundhage made a couple of nice halftime adjustments and putting Lauren Cheney into the starting lineup appeared to be good moves.

Good start. Better yet, not having to dig out a big opening hole. Nice.

Couldn't believe how young the North Korean team was. One kid was 16!?! Of course, you never know if they treat birth certificates like Kim's golf scorecards.

Thoughts?

If he gets playing time (especially at center back), good move. If not, a waste of time. The events of the last few weeks should show just how valuable a healthy, in-form Onyewu is to the US, if only to bridge the gap between playing Bocanegra and the likes of Goodson, Ream, Gonzalez, etc.

Lots of gravitationally challenged players in Portugal. Hopefully he remembers how to deal with those and not lose his cool.

I just like that the North Korean coach said his team didn't play as well as they cold have because they were struck by lightning earlier this month.

I wish I was making that up.

Dang, Smash beat me to it. I've been laughing my butt off at this. Please see me earlier post in this thread!

This could have been the strike.

Given the fact that Kim and four others were struck by lightning last week and yet played, shows how brilliantly weak the round-eyes were.
LMAO and fixed.

RBNY traded DeRosario to DC for Dax McCarty... Interesting...

How the hell are we up to a sixth soccer thread already? When did that happen? Surely I haven't been posting on soccer threads here for that long. That can't be right.
