Sitting behind an iMac. Why?
Yes, yes, we are in the middle of the World Cup and that's where the world's and SJ's attention is right now. But instead of cluttering up that thread with news about potential club transfers, I figured it was time to start our 2010-11 thread.

D_B linked to a story about Citeh looking at Donovan. And about Real Madrid considering Tevez.

And Henry to NYRB appears to be happening.

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona says striker Thierry Henry has agreed to leave the club by mutual consent.

Angel di Maria to Real Madrid from Benfica. Was rumored to all big EPL clubs.

Another midfielder? As if Gago, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Van der Vaart, Drenthe, Granero and the Canales kid weren't enough?

If Ronaldo and Benzema start dropping further back to get the ball, the midfield could get awfully crowded.

Inter allegedly wants Xavi Alonso as part of a Maicon deal. We'll see.

I REALLY don’t want Donovan going to Man City. He’ll never get any minutes and only degrade. With all the cash that they are splashing around, they are trying to be like the rest of the big boys. Those teams run on a standard M.O., buy good players and use them as squad players.

As for Henry… Yup. I’m looking forward to it.

Lastly… I came home last night to find out that RBNY crashed out of the Open Cup, yet again, to a USL side. Ugh.

Just like clockwork, this team continues to crush me…

Yeah, but what kind of gifts do we have to give out...?

This just sort of sneaked in under the radar.
Pleased about Hogdson.
Job 1, Roy: sell Lucas for whatever you can get.
Invest the transfer fee in a new popcorn machine, or something.

I'm excited!

I'll be sad to see StarKick Chinn get bumped down the line further, but for Henry... YEAH!

Citeh has reportedly gotten David Silva from Valencia and are working on Yaya Toure and Fabio Coentrao. So I wouldn't worry about Donovan going there.

YaYa deal is done.

Mario Balotelli could end up in Eastlands

As an Inter fan I'd have really mixed emotions. He's going to be a fabulous player, but at this point he's a terribly immature pain in the butt. Talented players are usually worth the hassle, but I'm not sure he is.

With the Kansas City Wizards rebranding before next season, does anyone have the inside track on what the new name will be? It's possible they don't even know yet, but I figure that they must have something in mind if they are going ahead with the plan.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be calculated to get more butts in the seats and make it so that possible designated players would see KC as a desirable destination.

So it will be in vain.
