Funny stuff here.

Before the Leroy Mercer CDs (a collection of prank calls from a guy threatening to whip everybody's ass), there was the original Roy Mercer calls. If you grew up in the South, these prank calls were legendary.

Someone emailed me a link to the originals tonight. Ah, the memories.

WARNING: Language is NSFW, and the accents are unsafe for anyone north of Tennessee. This is not, in any way, shape or form, art.

Here's my favorite, as Roy tries to get himself a new pair of boots from Thom McCann's:

Needs a new tire, rim and pooooosssssibly a realignment job:

Here's a link to the site, which has quite a few other prank calls from various folks, including quite a few more from Roy.

Had Mercer call me once.

When I was selling cars several years ago, he asked me if I was in the building, and that he was gonna come down to the store and kick my ass........said that his wife was in there looking for a Ford Taurus, and all I wanted to do was show her my Probe.

I liked this the first time. When it was called The Jerky Boys.

Actually, I have no idea who pre-dates who. I listened to a bunch of Mercer calls when I was in Kansas at my buddy's wedding a few years back. He was OK, but not the funniest thing I'd ever heard.

You haven't lived if you haven't heard "Kick my dog" by The Jerky Boys.

I think Mercer pre-dates the Jerky Boys.

pure classic.

"What do you expect me to do?"
"I expect you to stand there and get your ass whupped"

Clower tells stories. Mercer don't. Big difference.
Knock 'eem out, John.

Mercer was doing this WAY before the Jerky Boys.

My favorite line from Mercer is: "I can't help it if you're eat-up with a case of the dumb-ass."

Well, you kept telling Sharon Gene to get down on the ground and look at the tires. Least that's what Roy said.
