Never started one of these early TV threads before, but I've been told by a TV pal who has seen the show already that tonight's The Office is one of the funniest hours of TV in a long time.

Just thought I'd remind everyone that it's on early -- 8:00 est. (Consider this my public service duties for the month.)

can't wait. and unless you're planning to watch the world's most inane reality/game show (guess which one of these people on stage donated a kidney! guess which one has AIDS! guess who accidentally killed someone when he was a teen-ager! guess who has seven DUIs!) i think this is the last of the new shows until after the holidays.

Count me in as one who can't WAIT to see this episode. I normally wait for Doc to get home before I watch it. Not tonight. No chance.

If it doesn't, we'll record it for you and send it to you IJAG!

PLEASE work properly.

Luckily for you, IJAG, I believe The Office is put on the 'Net almost immediately in its entirety.

Is it an hour or 30 minutes long? My cableguide is showing it as 30 minutes.

Yeah, Doc, I know. Worst case, I can get it on iTunes. And I'm off tomorrow, so I won't probably watch it until then anyway.

Also, IJAG, do you get to remove the anti-Brook sig this week? 'Cause the game's going to begin soon. :D

Get on your knees, Chuck. A few weeks ago, my TiVo decided not to record the last new Office and I haven't seen it yet.

I'm still salty.

Um, Chuck who?

That was one excellent hour of TV. There were so many great moments, but I particularly loved when Dwight took Toby's robe and Toby just said, "Why?"

That was one hell of an hour. I laughed so hard. I like that Karen and Pam are becoming friends and it's pretty obvious Jim still got a bad twinge of jealousy when he saw Pam opening that christmas present.

When Michael marked the waitress, I about fell off the couch laughing. And Jim's rebound speech at the end was perfect.

carrell's character listening to that depressing, broken-heart love song -- what's the name? -- over and over reminded me of when a beautiful girl blindsided me with a breakup i didn't see coming in college. i went back to my dorm room and played linda ronstadt singing, "long, long time," over and over.

we were having a dorm party that night. guys kept coming by and asking, "where's michelle?" i'd jusy say, "listen to the song, man."

what a drama king, huh?

great episode.

The song is "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt. Yeah, I like James Blunt. Deal with it. :p

The fact that he kept playing the 30-second iTunes blip of the song was fantastic.
As was the marking of the waitress ...
And more veiled racism from Michael ...
And Oscar ... "too soon." Best moment of the night. Just fantastic.
