"The Bridge" on FX

Getting caught up on this. Ahem, spoilers. Kinda. Is it a spoiler if it's so predictable?



It's as if they've just gone through the El Paso newspaper for the last decade or so and ripped off all the good storylines: smuggling tunnels, drug cartels, corrupt cops, beheadings, migrant poisonings, queenpin, juarez women, xenophobia, immigration laws, religious colonies, etc. Very predictable, but I'll keep watching.

Yes. The standoff was fantastic, and all the moving pieces in this show make it very interesting.

This show is very good. It sits well above Under the Bridge and Criminal Minds, but is a notch below Luther, Breaking Bad and Sherlock.

Caught up on The Bridge last night. I still don't see how "the Beast" has been where he is as long as he has been. And how he found the girl in the parking garage? Was he just in the neighborhood and knew she was going to skip out the restaurant bathroom?

Now we know. And I kind of figured he was after the son all along.

Love the line from Gus explaining to Sonya why she has been called a MILF. Sonya's reply, "But I don't have kids."

Two episodes in and I think the (what seems to be) A-plot story this season projects to be much stronger, though the sub/cross plots are already becoming convoluted with a menagerie of characters - and the Annabeth Gish and creepy chivalrous dude storylines haven't even fully resumed.

.Love the addition of Franka Potente. Her character is already more interesting than the unknown killer of last season's first half. I know that plot was dispointing, but curious who's onboard for this go-round and what you think so far.

I gave the first episode of season 2 a shot and was bored to tears. Just feels like I'm doing homework to watch this show. Too much on TV. This was easy to shave off the DVR.

Yeah, I've watched the first two episodes, but waited 2-3 days to do so. I love Bechir and Ted Levine, but it's running out of steam for me.

I've watched the first two episodes and haven't decided if I'm going to continue or give up and just read Sepinwall's summaries. I want so much to like this show, but it's too much like work and Diane Kruger still bugs me.

I want to like it as well, mostly because I think Demian Bechir does a great job in his role. But it has a hard time keeping my interest.

I bet if they could have started from scratch, they would have dialed her character's quirks by 75%
