A local story that ended up with coach suspended for shaking goalie:

Nice catch by local prep writer to get photos.

This happens more often than we would like to admit..... albeit maybe not in girls lacrosse.

My football coaches, from Pee Wee through high school, used to grab us by the facemask and yell at us if we missed an assignment. It really never struck me as anything out of the ordinary or even bad.

Same with me but it's a much different era where coaches are not expected to act like this.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
So that's what Jane Lynch does on the side when she's not on Glee.

This coach doesn't look very discreet, but she'll probably still haunt my dreams.

That's not the photo that really tells the story.

There area couple others that are a little tougher.

I'll say this: Bob Luckey of the Greenwich Time is one heckuva preps photog. The images on the link are great. This is prize-winning material.

I think football was and still is different, just because you're slamming helmets into another player half the time. It's not unusual to see a coach screaming at a single player still. But girls' lacrosse would seem like an entirely different matter to me, since the sport is basically non-contact.

Like others have posted, I had football coaches do that when I was in school. As long as the player didn't get hurt, no one made a big deal of it. Reasoning was that if the only thing hurt was your feelings, you shouldn't be playing in the first place.

Guess times have changed.

When they make the movie, the coach will be played by Malcolm McDowell.

The way things are today, she's lucky she didn't get fired and get sued by the kids' parents for emotional distress.

Or get arrested by the police for assault.
