Tarentino to film the Manson Murders?

Tarentino has a Manson script with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence attached. Yeesh. The mind boggles at how that might come out.

I respectfully disagree. Django Unchained was a fantastic movie. Inglorious Basterds took me a couple of viewings to fully enjoy it, but it was good also.

You're not wrong in that his powerful stuff was in mid-90s, but I think he bounced back from some ****ty flicks to make those two.

Sadly, I haven't seen Hateful Eight yet, but I heard it's pretty good.

Tarentino has great stories. I have issues with the stupid **** he inserts into to his movies.
Like bleeping Beatrix name, or putting in 70s-era sound effects in random spots in the film or the ridiculous accent in Inglorious Basterds and the general oddities in most of his movies. He needs someone to keep him on point. It's little stuff he does in his movies, like discovered a new button on a mixing or editing board and just throws it into the film.

Hateful Eight was just like his other movies, IB and DU... decent but hardly memorable.

I always enjoy large portions of his films, but it's the unexpected that always keeps ya riveted. Like the scene in the farmhouse at the beginning of Inglorious Bastards or when Travolta accidentally blows off Marvin's head in Pulp Fiction. Not sure his metier would be working from true events, though I suppose he could do as with IG and just use it as a leaping off point. Like maybe Manson doesn't get commuted for his death sentence and ends up pissing himself and crying like a baby on the way to the chair. I'd watch that.

EDIT: Or to take it to the other extreme, imagining a scenario where he got paroled.

It seems like the leading man types have had a tough time playing Manson because he was such a little twerp, but somehow had such a presence.

You need somebody who is short, a little crazy, but has a cultish charisma and sex appeal you can buy, even if you don't quite understand. Throw in Tarantino's history with actors who need a reinvention and I'm going to do something I haven't done in years...

I'm going to say I'd like to see Tom Cruise in that role.

Do you really need someone short? I don't think Manson's height is among the things that come readily to mind in describing him. I think Ben Foster would be a great Manson

Sidenote: I read recently that Napoleon wasn't actually short for his era. He was average height. But there was some discrepancy in converting a French measurement and/or description into English, and the English propagandists capitalized on it.
