Stowaway found dead in Delta plane wheel well

There was a guy in the past three years who, if I remember correctly, mailed himself in a wooden crate and was appropriately stowed in storage.

He got out upon landing and was arrested, but had no clue how cold it gets up there.

A sad tale, if that turns out to be the case here too.

I don't know why anyone would think this would even work. cruising at 37,000 feet, over the north pole.. yeah, that'll work

Global warming?

Well, this guy won't be arrested. He has that going for him. The story said it gets to minus-50 F in the cargo hold during that flight.

If he had managed to get in the rear bin of the B-777, it's pressurized and temp controled so they can ship animals and the like.

UPDATE: Turns out the guy was a fan of Ice Cube and when he realized he could not BE his idol, he did the next best thing.

It seemed odd that a guy would stow away on a flight from NYC to Tokyo.

Well, he didn't. He stowed away on a flight from Nigeria to NYC -- over a month ago!

The body of a man found frozen to death aboard a jet bound for Japan from Kennedy Airport went undetected for nearly two months, sources said.

The unidentified victim, a Nigerian national, was found early Monday by a mechanic inside the wheel well of Delta Air Lines Flight 59 at Narita Airport in Tokyo, authorities said.

The man, who died from lack of oxygen, was carrying a Nigerian cellphone, sources said.

Investigators believe he hid in the wheel well on Dec. 17 -- the last time the phone had been used -- when the plane was in Lagos, Nigeria, for a flight bound for New York.

Since then, the plane has logged tens of thousands of miles.

A Delta spokeswoman said the airline followed all inspection procedures.

Sad part is he was trying to bring all those who helped him transfer his rightful millions the money he promised them.
