Spotify wrapped… whatcha got?

I enjoy my Spotify wrapped every year. It's fun.
The artist list is pretty legit. I question the top song list because I know I've listened to certain songs more than what they have as my top.

I didn’t know Joe Biden played the guitar.

Oddly enough, I have a "Jimmy Buffett for President" t-shirt, and more than one dumbass has smarted off to me (most notably my dad), thinking it is a Biden shirt.

Not shockingly, The Hold Steady was my top artist and I'm among the top .01 percent of THS listeners worldwide.

My Top 5s. Songs are "Jungle Love" by the Steve Miller Band, "27 Jennifers" by Mike Doughtry, "Around the World" by Daft Punk from Alive 2007, "Connection" by Elastica, and "The Nights of Wine and Roses" by Japandroids.

Speaking of Japandroids ... are they caput, or just on a hiatus? It's been five years or so since their last studio album (I believe a live album was officially released during the pandemic).

Good Q. In the past, they've gone dormant for long periods of time, so I think that might be what's happening right now, unfortunately. Their last concert date was the Shaky Knees Music Festival in May 2022, and an Instagram post about it in 2021 was the last social media post they had there. On FB, they reposted an article about a 10-year album anniversary, but that's it.

I like train songs a lot, so I'm building a playlist just for them. Here's another great one ...

I saw Pure Prairie League in college right when their live album came out.
Highly rated all the way through. And this great train song kicks off the show.

It’s skewed, though. I often listen to music in my collection from the pre-streaming era.

Which sounds like I’m playing it on Victrola to anyone under 30.
