The Clayton Tribune, a 6,200-circulation weekly newspaper in the beautiful South Appalachian Mountains of Northeast Georgia, is seeking a savvy sports reporter to cover three local high schools and a news beat.
Our candidate will be an enterprising journalist well versed in AP Style, adept with a camera and committed to producing well-told stories from the straightforward game and feature reports to enterprise and investigative projects. The right person for this position will also be able to cover games live on our social media accounts as well as cover breaking news for our website. The primary beats for this position include the athletic activities of one public school system and two private schools, although some news writing will be required. A knowledge of InDesign for page design is a plus.
The Clayton Tribune is an award-winning newspaper with a growing social media audience that also boasts a high market penetration rate and has been known to sell out a box of newspapers as our carrier is trying to fill it.
