It's form vs. function then. I'll take function and save the $1200. Like I'll drive a Civic instead of a Lexus.
And reading this, I'm starting to wonder why so many on here ***** about how little they get paid. Perhaps a little bit more conscientious spending is in order?
If your mortage payment is $1600 (or $2400), then we're in different tax brackets, to say the least. I'll enjoy my SD and my Civic. You enjoy your fancy TV, your Lexus and your McMansion.

playthrough said:We got HDTV today through Dish Network to go on our new 42-inch flatscreen. It's very cool. But I kinda feel duped that I have to buy an antenna to get HD for my local channels (read: to watch the Super Bowl properly). Anyone got any advice on that? Our TV sits in the basement and the installer said I'll probably want to run a cable to the antenna, mounted outside for better reception.

This may out me somewhat, but ... I bought this antenna from Radio Shack yesterday, plugged it in in about 10 minutes and picked up all my local channels (I have DirecTV and my market doesn't offer the local CBS and Fox affiliate in HD). I plugged it into the "external antenna" coax opening on the back of my DirecTV HD receiver and it worked like a charm.Rambler said:playthrough said:We got HDTV today through Dish Network to go on our new 42-inch flatscreen. Seriously? I'm getting DISH HD on Friday to go with my new 40-inch HD TV that I bought about two hours ago. Anyone else with DISH have this problem? I'm getting mine mounted on my wall and I don't want to have to have ANY kind of cable or antenna attached.
DISH types, please weigh in.
