Sports Reporter/Photographer
The Sentinel-News has an opening for a sports reporter/photographer. The paper is a twice-weekly publication (Wed./Fri.) with a Monday TMC product that also publishes numerous special sections. Shelbyville is located on I-64, about 25 miles east of Louisville. Qualified candidates should have a Journalism degree and minimum of one year's writing experience for a weekly or multi-weekly newspaper. Experience with high school sports reporting is a plus. Qualified candidates should be able to properly use a digital camera, have a high energy level, be self-motivated, and be able to work 40-hour weeks, including night and weekend coverage. Essential functions include covering assignments and two high school sports programs with timely stories and photos, taking initiative to pursue news/feature/photo opportunities, contributing stories and photos for special sections, being able to meet established deadlines and functioning effectively as a member of the news team.
