Good adjustments by Pitino once again after Louisville fell behind. And John Beilien should have put Trey Burke back in the game sooner. Albrecht played out of his mind for a while there, but that wasn't going to last, and Albrecht is the friggin national player of the year.

Terrible call on Burke, but that makes up for about 6 calls earlier that should have been made. The white-haired gentleman in stripes has been 2-3 steps too slow all night.

So battles for rebounds are basically off-tackle plays where anything goes with no whistle. Then Burke goes up and cleanly blocks a shot and the whistle blows?

This has had all the elements of a great game except one: brutally awful officiating. There have been way too many inexplicably awful calls in this one, the one ugly tarnish on what should otherwise be remembered as a great final.

That three Hancock kid hit when should have already fouled out of the game isn't getting enough attention. UL caught a huge break when the officials handed what should have been his fourth foul to the wrong player.

I think Louisville is the better team but the reffing has still been crap, unsurprisingly the announcing crew have not mentioned the inconsistencies once.

Is it me, or is there just far too much attention being paid to Kevin Ware? I get that injury was bad, but it's not like he was a huge contributor. It's a storyline, I suppose, but isn't it taking away from the real story, that the No. 1 overall seed won the national title?

CBS has a rule. You have to overcome adversity to win a title. If you didn't, CBS will invent it.

Hell of a game.

LeVert for Michigan had no business being on the floor, and the Michigan bench just fell asleep during Hancock's run in the first half.

A very well played final, though the officiating was erratic. Luke Hancock saved the game for Louisville with his threes late in the first half. Completely turned the game around.

Louisville was the better team, but it also had the better tactician on the sidelines. That makes no small difference in games like this.

Steve Kerr actually did do a good job of pointing out each of the awful calls as they happened (Nantz and Kellogg considerably less so). But what they all, of course, refrained from doing was tying them together for the logicl conclusion: ie. there've been waayy too many obviously awful calls, these refs did a crappy job.

We'll see if anybody has more courage to point that out tomorrow.
