Comes out in a couple weeks. Anyone planning on seeing it? I know I will. I love the Saw series. Look forward to it every fall.

Saw V got mixed results on here if I remember correctly. I loved it. Thought it was the second best of the series, behind the first, which will never be topped.

The first Saw was nothing short of brilliant. But like the Halloween series, Saw has progressively gotten worse. The first couple of sequels were OK. But the last couple have been garbage.

The past couple have been just about unwatchable. But they'll probably keep making them forever. They cost $10 million to make and make a guaranteed $50 million -- why wouldn't they make 100 of them?

I have enjoyed them all. Everyone of them has a twist that is just great. Best horror series ever. Ever.
Can't wait for VI.

I'm two movies behind, but as I've noted on other horror movie thread, Saw III was the most disturbing, disgusting thing I've ever seen. I can't even comprehend what they had in store for IV, V and VI.

Doesn't mean I won't catch up in October, of course. :D

IV might have been my least favorite -- still awesome, but not as awesome as the rest -- but V more than brought it back around. Very little confusion as to what's going on; no more cloudy plotlines, at least to me. Sets up VI very nicely.

BYH....when you watch the Saw movies, do you envision Softstra as the victims and GMU as the contraptions? Just wondering. :)

Never saw Hostel?

Saw isn't as bad as Hostel? Because I watched Hostel, but had been scared of watching any of the Saw movies.

I get freaked out pretty easily, and it stays with me for months. I currently sleep with the deadbolts on both doors, plus bottles sitting in front of them so in case anyone DOES get in, I'll hear the bottle knock over. So scary movies kind of **** my **** up.

I have not seen Hostel.
A friend who saw both said Saw isn't even close to Hostel. He said Hostel was nothing more than torture porn.
Saw, on other hand has plots - good plots, to go with the gore.

For me, Hostel has way more gore overall than Saw. Some of the individual scenes in Saw movies might be nastier, but as a whole, Hostel is pretty effing brutal. So brutal that I haven't watched the second one, while I've watched every single Saw movie.

Maybe I'm weird, though. :)

I've seen the first two Saw movies. I thought the first one was great. The second one was better than I expected, but paled in comparison to the first one. I'd probably see Saw VI if I had seen III, IV, and V. But after seeing Pumpkinhead IV without having seen Pumpkinhead III I refuse to watch any films with Roman numerals unless I've seen the previous one(s).

Hostel was one of the most misanthropic films I've ever seen. I couldn't believe it was made by the same guy that directed that turd called Cabin Fever. I haven't seen the second Hostel film. I heard that it's far more extreme than the first one.

If I had a working television I could catch up on all the movies I've missed. Who am I kidding...if I had a working television I would be watching 30 Rock Season Three non-stop.

Hostel might be one of the most disturbing big movies ever seen. The sequel was pretty bad.

They've never come close to the first Saw movie, but a couple of the sequels have been pretty solid. I didn't see the last one.

I haven't seen a Saw movie since III, which was pretty ****ed up. I felt like I needed to get my brain scrubbed afterward.

My brother and I used to go just to see the gore and the horrible acting.

They made the first Saw movie for less than $1 million. I don't think any of them have cost more than $20 mil, which is pennies by Hollywood standards. They could make that money back even if they went straight to DVD.

The second one makes the first one look like "Bambi" -- OK, that's an exaggeration, but it's definitely the most ****ed up wide release movie I can think of.

I thought Saw VI was the last in the series. Somewhere I heard they were only making six.

I've seen all of the Saws up to now.

I was by far the best.

III was the most gruesome.

II, IV and V were alright.

Will definitely see VI.

The first Hostel is scarier than the second one. The second one is much more graphic and violent.
