- it just might be Ohtani. He's in the discussion for sure.

He's not the best living player because he's barely 30 and for as amazing as he is, he's only done it for a short period of time. But if he goes 40/40 while posting a 3.00-ish ERA over 25 starts next year...*******, he's gonna be awfully high on the list.

If he's able to get back to pitching, he's not going to steal that many bases ever again -- it's not worth it for the wear and tear on his body and the potential to get hurt

There's an MLB thread? It's nearly October, and when I scan the first five pages of this forum a college baseball/softball thread is as close as it gets. *edit* Well, there's the RIP Billy Bean thread, I guess that sorta counts... but it's no more appropriate than the Willie Mays thread.
