I know I was shocked by this.
He truly was an amazing dancer, and seemed so comfortable in his own skin -- so positive, and exactly like the love and light his wife has described. I'm a fan of "So You think You Can Dance?" and actually remember the season in which he performed and first became known and recognized, after his runner-up finish.
I can't imagine what prompted this, if it was a specific event, or if he suffered from depression or another mental-health condition that was just not publicly known, and I actually would like to know more information. Apparently, it was suicide by self-inflicted gunshot, too, and that just seemed so anathema to him.
This is sad and disconcerting all around -- actually hard to wrap my head around, based on the little information provided. The last time I felt like this about a celebrity death/suicide was when Robin Williams died.
