RIP to an all-time legend. I remember reading a story that he and Phil would wax their basement floor and play vicious games of hockey while “skating” on knees wrapped in diapers.

He wrote an excellent book on goaltending that I found at the New York Public Library when I started playing ice hockey. He advised relaxing the body from the top of the head to the end of the toes, which became an integral part of my routine.

I interviewed him at Michigan Tech
Great guy
Great goalie
Good God, how old are you, LOL?

In all seriousness, RIP to a Blackhawks legend. Came oh so close to winning a couple of Cups in the early 1970s against his former team.
IIRC, Tony played a bit with the Houston Apollos in the old Central League.

Awesome memories of Tony O and Chicago Stadium.

Not THAT old
Tony O was being inducted into the Huskies Hall of Fame
Late 70s
Gotcha. What was the longtime coach's name? John McGinnis, or something like that? FWIW, I once called a D-II Elite Eight women's basketball tournament involving Michigan Tech.

Insofar as Tony O, just wanted to add Team Canada does not win the historic 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union without him.
Was intrigued as a kid by how he implemented "bird cage" wiring to the eye socket areas on his fiberglass mask.

Didn't he whiff on a long shot that was huge in Game 7 of the 1971 SCPs against Montreal? Maybe not Game 7, but something like that. I do remember that Dryden robbed Jim Pappin of the tying goal in G 7.

Chicago got to the final that year by outlasting the Rangers in an epic seven-game series in the semifinals that included two overtime goals by New York's Pete Stemkowski.

I remember listening to Game 6 on the radio as a kid in New Jersey -- three overtimes. My parents sent me to bed before it was over, but I had a transistor radio up against my ear between my head and the pillow so Mom and Dad couldn't see or hear it. Had to keep myself from shouting when Stemkowski scored the winner to take the series to Game 7. Esposito gave up three goals that night, but he also made 46 saves.

Between you and @Jake from State Farm, lot of memories here. I was a SE in Houghton, where John MacInnes is basically a god, for a long time. Was that Elite Eight in the 2000s? Tech WBB got to the title game one of those years and lost.

Hi there! Want to say it was 2009 in San Antonio. Could be wrong about the year, though.
