Long Beach State employed Jerry Tarkanian, Lute Olson and Tex Winter as head basketball coaches in the 1980s.

Actually, that would be the period from 1968 to 1983. Tarkanian came in at the start of that and left in 1973. Olson took over for the two season after that before Iowa hired him. Winter coached the Beach from 1978-83.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I was actually surprised that Winter's tenure stretched into the early '80s.
