Was great when he acted.

Sopranos was a wonderful arc.

If you see his name, it probably good.

Agreed.

Damn, now I'm going to have to go tell my wife. She always loved Pollack because he looked like my father-in-law, who died three years ago.

I just watched "The Firm" last night. Pretty good film thanks in part to Dave Grusin's arrangements and because of Pollack.

RIP.

He was good in Michael Clayton as well.
I had no idea he was sick.

I wonder if he knew he had cancer while he was doing his role on the Sopranos?

Did Johnny Sack die of stomach cancer on that show?

F.R.E.A.K.Y. I finished watching that episode about 20 minutes ago. Mrs. tbf fires up the old computator and says, "Damn. Sydney Pollack died today. Cancer."

Johnny Sack died of lung cancer.

I always liked him as the father on Will & Grace. Coupled with Blythe Danner on the show, they made a great comedic pair.

He was just on Entourage last season and he looked healthy. RIP

Yeah, I had no idea.

He was also great in Changing Lanes.

I actually met him at a hotel in New Orleans a few years back. He was reading a script and when he came to the bar for a refill I told him what an enormous fan I was. He was incredibly gracious and friendly.

He looked a lot younger than he was at the time.

RIP to one of the best directors and actors around.

Absolutely knew . . . he was sick, for years.

Exactly.

Last night I watched 'Recount' on HBO, and I saw Pollack listed as an EP in the opening credits. ... Thought to myself, "Pollack? I'll enjoy this."

If you look on imdb... check out the stuff he EP'd as well as directed and acted. He touched so many amazing projects.

He had great taste.

Thought I'd read multiple sources that he'd known for at least a couple of years.

Interesting. Too bad. Liked most of his stuff.
