...now renamed Willis Tower...

Chicagotribune.com

My dad used to have an office in that building...all the way up on the sixth floor! He'd always joke that his office in Chicago was actually 2 stories lower than his one in Nashville. Cool building, except when it first opened and windows were blowing out when the ice froze them!

George Jefferson: Willis Tower! Ha! Why didn't they name it the Honky Zebra Tower!"

(laugh track)

Weezy Jefferson: Oh George!

Helen Willis: They would have named a building after you too, George, but they couldn't find a building short enough.

(whooped-up, in-your-face laugh track)

Tom Willis: (random WASP-ish bumbling and ignorance ended by misuse of the word "ghetto")

HIGH-larious.

It makes sense the Sears Tower would be renamed. Sears moved out to the 'burbs a long time ago.

Jeez, at first I thought maybe it was a terrorist attack but we were being really casual about things.

I thought this was going to be a thread about someone wanting to tear it down. My thoughts went from stunned to "how they hell do they do that?" Not like a wrecking ball will work, and implosion would seem to be out of the question, too. Too damned tall, wouldn't it be?

Oh crap. Surrounded by two road-trip loving fascit Republicans. Some great company I'm in. :D

I didn't think it was a terrorist attack at all. No sirree.

Yes, but a) I appreciate ketchup and b) went to a school that can beat Mason when it counts.
