The late, great Bill Halls told a story about Wilt, then with the Lakers, posting up and Pistons rookie Bob Lanier trying to push and shove him out of the post
Wilt looked at Lanier, grabbed him by the waist, picked him up and moved a 6-11, 275 pound guy out of the paint
Then he got back in position, got the ball and scored
Btw, that was when VBK was the Pistons coach and Lanier was splitting time with Otto Moore

Not defending VBK, but if it was Lanier's rookie season, it was less than nine months after he tore an ACL in the NCAA regional final in March. So maybe splitting some time and not having him play 40-45 minutes on one leg wasn't a bad idea. Compared to today, 1970 knee surgery looks like something out of the Civil War.

Wayne Embry was like 6-8, 275, and with my own eyes I saw Wilt lift him up in the air and several steps back to break up a potential fight.
