One of the founding members of the Isley Brothers, for my money a criminally underrated and truly great act of the '60s and '70s. Dead at 84.

And this is just a funky sampler. The Isleys are the rare R&B group to be appreciated for album-level brilliance, at least they were in the 70s.

In longevity, influence, chops and pure funkiness, they have no equals.
