Uber lib who suddenly ended the mourning period of Charlie Kirk.

So great with Newman and Butch and Sundance and The Sting. He also made an indelible mark on the movie business with the Sundance FF. My favorite role of his was The Electric Horseman. My favorite gif?

Proud Of You Yes GIF

I always got "The Electric Horseman" and "Comes a Horseman" mixed up (having seen neither).

What are the odds of two movies with "Horseman" in the name being released a year apart? Adding to the confusion was that both had Jane Fonda, and "Comes" had Jason Robards, who also shared a screen with Redford in All The President's Men.

When Hollywood was Hollywood. First film I saw him in was "Barefoot In The Park" with Jane Fonda. R.I.P.

For some reason, his movies never seemed to be ones I would go watch. But like Inky said, he was as hot as they come for several years. And he was a pro.

Redford was an undeniably popular movie star.

To me, it always seemed like he played close to the same character is every film he was in. The quiet, steady man who carefully chose his words.

Even in Butch Cassidy, the one role in which that definition might not apply, Newman’s character was based more on his mouth than Redford’s was.

Nothing wrong with that. I once read a review about Miles Davis that said that while Davis was seemingly on a constant search to refresh the genre he was associated with in a given moment, Davis himself almost always played his trumpet the same way over the top of whatever the music that surrounded it was.

Redford struck me the same way with his acting and what roles he took … though he still made an impression when he was on screen. RIP.

I loved the lyrical beauty of a river runs through it.

I love that film too. I watched it a couple of times before my oldest went to college.

When he went away, I went fishing on my own, thought of that film and how life was now much different since he was gone, and got pretty sad while I was fishing.

Then I thought to myself that while I was being sad, my oldest was probably hanging out with the guys and flirting with girls, so why was I being sad? Life goes on, as a river runs through it. I perked up.
