Exactly. So why not celebrate that the record - and it is a special record - remains in tact? I don't blame any of those guys one bit.

It's not like they did burnouts in Gillette Stadium with then Pats lost. They were classy about it.


There was a baseball player - can't remember who, probably been more than one - that was kind of ass about one or maybe his only major record being broken ... that wasn't these guys. Like I said I think they were quiet and classy about their oh-so-special record remaining theirs.

The MNF game against the '85 Bears with a bunch of the '72 players on the sidelines was amazing.

OK, how about Don Larsen toasting every time a perfect game is ruined in the World Series?

I get that they want to honor their accomplishments. That gesture, however, always struck me as being in poor taste.

I do hope if another team goes undefeated, however many of the '72 Dolphs are left join in the celebration ceremony.

Buoniconti was fun as hell to watch. Not a roving tower of destruction like Butkus, but a nonstop buzzsaw.

He was enjoyable as a broadcaster, and of course he turned his celebrity and visibility to good use in his spinal injury research fundraising.
