Assuming he is dead, I count him as the second deceased SB winning starting qb (I am going from memory). Anyone have the other?

Rumor has it he has been suffering from prostate cancer for some time.

But you're right. It could be a case where he's on the verge of death but technically still alive, and a source jumped the gun.

Or it could be a Nelson Mandela situation where he lives another 4-5 years.

I remember that being the case out west somewhere a few years back where a pro skater or surfer was reported dead, but he was technically alive so they could harvest his organs. He died a day or two later.

I wish The Snake the best. One of my favorite non-Steeler QBs

I think you're right... He started in the Blooper Bowl against Dallas, got knocked out, but he started AND the Colts won.

Woodley's team lost.

It's Unitas.

He started SB V, got knocked out, and Morrall came in and got the "win".

Morrall started SB III for the Colts, and Weeb Ewbank replaced him late with Unitas in the loss.

Morrall filled in for Griese in the 72 undefeated Dolphin season, started the first two playoff wins that season. Griese started the Super Bowl win over the Redskins.
