Well, I just learned something new. Not the Kamala Harris I thought. She must have heard a ton of jokes about James Harris' wrestling alter ego.

I see what you did there with the thread title.

Ad for the wrestler, he was a super entertaining character who had a rough past few years with his health. RIP.

*Kamala

And perhaps the most amazing thing about him is that he managed to use the Kamala gimmick for almost 30 years without anyone making a fuss about how insanely racist it was.

My uncle was a big Elks Club guy and I think I witnessed Kamala's Mid-South debut sitting at their bar at the age of 14.

FYI, I screwed up the merging of the two threads. All the replies are here, but mixed up. I think this was Regan MacNeil's thread title.

Jason King from Bleacher Report (and formerly of ESPN, Yahoo! Sports and the Kansas City Star) befriended Kamala in the last few years, and he's set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. Mrs. Kamala was her husband's fulltime caregiver for the last 10 years and hasn't been able to work. There's also a 7-minute video in this link produced by Bleacher Report, The Rise and Fall of Kamala. It's touching. He seemed like such a good guy.

The GoFundMe has raised more than $23,000 of its $25,000 goal.

Lots of folks seem to have good memories of Kamala.
