He appeared in a Christmas movie shot in my hometown. I know one of the locals who had a bit part and interacted with throughout the shooting, and said he was a great guy. RIP.

My friend was also in a hometown-shot Christmas movie with Viva Bianca. I think he liked her too.

Heartbroken by this. When I was kid, traveling to Cincinnati every year to visit my Dad's family, I thought WKRP was a real station and that the good Doctor was actually in the Flemm Building along with the rest of the gang. Hell, a small part of me still believes.

I'm sure Johnny, Herb and the Big Guy are catching up. Maybe they are even pulling for the Bengals today.

He had a great early role in a Dragnet episode where he played a prominent hippie who faces off with Joe Friday in a public debate. It ends with Hesseman tossing a "Make Love Not War" button and Friday throwing it back and saying "wouldn't it be nice if that was the alternative."

"Yeah, listen, we'd love to stand around and chat, but we've gotta... sit down in the lobby and wait for the limo."

Howard was also an Oregon Duck. RIP.
They sold out the Enormodome after all even if Tap was still apologizing for his set the time he opened for them.
