RIP Georgette

And Gavin MacLeod. (Also Joyce Bulifant, who played his wife. And Helen Hunt played his daughter. Really.)

Shoot, as MTM I should know better. I was only thinking of the newsroom staff, and main characters. And I thought MacLeod was dead.

It's amazing looking at who wandered onto that show - and that it only ran for 7 years. John Ritter, Henry Winkler, Betty Ford, Penny Marshall, Craig T. Nelson, Isabel Sanford, John Amos. Mary Tyler Moore was a great actress, but honestly her legacy is the careers and quality TV she nurtured when you throw in The White Shadow, Hill Street Blues, the careers of Bochco, James L. Brooks, the people behind Cheers

Always sad to hear it when I find this out about people...

"John Quilty, her friend and executor, said the cause was undetermined because Ms. Engel, who was a Christian Scientist, did not consult doctors."

Ted Baxter’s girlfriend dies. It leaves just Ed Asner and Betty White from Mary Tyler Moore show cast.

Holy crap, when your screen name is MTM, and screw it up this badly....Honestly, I think you need to self-ban from posting for one week. :)

Reactions: MTM
RIP and all, but I thought that the Georgette character was completely lacking.

After Rhoda and Phyllis left the show, Georgette was made to be Mary's BFF. Good god, the show dragged with scenes with Georgette the focal point.

When MTM first aired, Ted Knight was 48 and Georgia Engel was 24 (although when I was a kid, I think I saw Georgette as an old lady). Was that age difference ever a plot line or even mentioned?
