Pippen was a first team All-Defensive Team nine times. West was All-Defensive Team first team only four times. BUT those four times were in the last four years of his career, from 1970-73. All-Defensive Team wasn't created until the 68-69 season. West only made second All-Defense that year. So I'd say West's defensive credentials are as good as Pippen's.
