Yes, I know, Richie's and Joanie's older brother in "Happy Days" disappeared into the TV ether years ago, but the actor who played him in the first season, Gavan O'Herlihy, has died at 70.

O'Herlihy, who was recast in a couple of episodes of season two before the character was written out of the series with nary a mention, had a pretty decent list of roles afterward. Probably most notable was as a villain in the TV miniseries "Lonesome Dove."

Sorry. I obviously overthought "Chachi loves Joanie but not Joanie's brother who mysteriously disappeared." And yes, I know the spin-off show's title was the other way around.
