That's fine. As a hockey figure and especially in Winnipeg, it's perfectly fitting. As an overall human being, nah.

In what way? And please be specific.Winnipeg is awful.
I get that he played for the Winnipeg Jets, but he never played for *these* Winnipeg Jets. The Jets he played for are in Arizona now. That's fine. As a hockey figure and especially in Winnipeg, it's perfectly fitting. As an overall human being, nah.

Maybe the Coyotes can put a 9 on their helmets. Which would be OK because they probably still have his contract to get to the floor.
Link please!I found a story about this game!
Tennessee won 71-69 in 2 OTs as Boerwinkle was fouled as time expired by Pete Thorne, and he made both free throws.
Alas, no Rocky on the roster.
None of that gave people pause during the postmortem worship of Kobe. That's fine. As a hockey figure and especially in Winnipeg, it's perfectly fitting. As an overall human being, nah.

I’m in my late 40s, a casual hockey fan, and yesterday was the first time I ever heard about Bobby Hull being a domestic abuser. So in that sense, the whitewashing worked. I’m betting I’m not alone in that either.

Well, the circumstances of Kobe's death -- tragic accident with his teenage daughter -- pretty much defused any posthumous rehashing of the rape scandal.
I had known Hull had a nasty divorce and was known around hockey as a loudmouth drunk, but I guessed he had settled down somewhat in middle and old age. As a Red Wings fan I had known his relationship with Brett was "bumpy" -- not all-out hostility but something less than a best buddy dad and son.
And of course some of that was ascribed to Brett's desire to be seen as an all-time great in his own right, rather than "Bobby's boy."
It's probably arguable that Bobby and Brett are the best father and son HOF combination in any sport, on their own separate qualifications.

Best piece on Hull I’ve read.
