Actor Ron Palillo dies at age 63.

Epstein died earlier this year.

Travolta's career seems to die a little more each year.

No clue about the other guy.

The other guy would be Freddie Boom Boom Washington, aka Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, right?

I had a Horshack T-shirt (cartoon picture of him with hand raised, with him saying, "ooooh ooooh ooooh oooh" when I was 10." I'm not that proud of it, to be honest.

How about those five or six extra students who sat around, nodded once in a while, and laughed at Vinnie's jokes?

How are they doing?

Maybe mutes live longer.

There was also Carvelli and his sidekick (can't remember his name), who was always starting **** with the Sweathogs.

And then things really jumped the shark, when they introduced Beau -- who not surprisingly signaled the end of the show.

When Travolta left, Welcome Back Kotter died.

Did he get his heart ripped out of his chest by a reanimated serial killer in a hockey mask?

If you raise your hand, sometimes the Grim Reaper calls on you.

As a Brooklyn boy, I loved that show, even though I probably was a little young to understand everything.

RIP

I do not remember Beau.

I see Kotter on the various poker shows. He seems to be fine. Then again, he wasn't much older than the Sweathogs.

What about Kotter's wife? She was hot to this seventh grader.

RIP to Mr. Palillo. But if you think the show died with Travolta exiting, I am one of those who was in HS when it very popular and I hated it. My Algebra class at the time was Kotter-like in some respects. Yeah, we got a lot of learning done those days. <angry smirk.>

I did some Wiki-research:
  • Marcia Strassman, who played Julie Kotter, is 64 now. It's weird thinking that she was only a year older than Ron Palillo.
  • Debralee Scott, who played Rosalie "Hotsie" Totsie, died in 2005 at 52.
  • John Sylvester White, who played Principal Woodman, died in 1988 at 68.
  • Stephen Shortridge, who played Beau De Labarre, is 58 now.

In anticipation of replacing Travolta, they brought in Beau, who was this good-looking actor who never did much of anything else. His story was that he was from the South, and got kicked out of school and somehow ended up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, or wherever the show was supposed to take place. It made absolutely no sense. He was supposed to be from New Orleans, I think.

Reunion last year

Shortridge was Ted McGinley before Ted McGinley.

Sorry to hear about Palillo. Imagine that must have been quite a rocketship ride. His first gig.

Carvelli, Charles Fleischer, was the voice of Roger Rabbitt.
