My mother, for heavens sake, met Mosca and a few other Ti-Cats on a TCA (TransCanada Airlines) flight the day after a game in Winnipeg which Hamilton won. The flight stopped in Winnipeg, likely from Vancouver, on its way to Toronto and my Mum (English, don’t you know), a huge Bombers fan, was on her way to visit a friend of hers in Toronto the day after the game. She and my Dad went to most of games and they knew some of the players. Anyway she was reading the next days Winnipeg Free Press sports page she had bought at airport and had the paper wide open when this “huge man” as she put it stopped by her aisle seat when he saw her looking at the Sports and asked if she knew who ‘this guy’ was as he pointed to a picture. She said she wasn’t sure and he grinned and said “It’s me!” It was Angelo Mosca.
I heard her tell that story countless times and she got a kick out of it every time. It was about 1958 or 59.
