I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mike Harris is a sexy *****.
Women want to be with him and men want to be him.

He's the man who would risk his neck for his fellow man...

There was a time, a time before the internet. When the local sports editor reigned supreme. When people believed everything they read in the newspaper. This was an age when only men were allowed to write the news. And in Richmond, one sports editor was more man then the rest. His name was Mike Harris. He was like a god walking amongst mere mortals. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. In other words, Mike Harris was the balls.

Mike Harris' pen makes even Marcus Vick wanna pack heat.

Oh, he does, anyway. Carry on.

You see this cat is a bad mother...
(Shut your mouth)
Well, I'm talkin' bout Mike Harris...

All that's missing from MU's post is the movie-trailer announcer guy going "in a world where there was only one newspaper in Richmond..."

If Mike Harris were around in the 1860s, we'd all be speaking Ward Burton.

I'm sure this tripe on the jobs board impresses him to no end. Here's hoping he doesn't miss a legitimate question in there while wading through the hoo-ha.

ha... nicely played

from some of the names i've heard already that are applying, mike will have a difficult choice, but should be able to find a winner.

this looks like one of the gigs of the year, apparently

Well, it does have the seal of approval after all.

OTR, no biggie. I just think that stuff, while funny and all, ought to be kept off the job board. We'd sort of like this to be a serious spot for job posting/searching/etc. We want to encourage editors such as this feller to post their openings and answer questions here.
You still the man.

Yes. And he's THE man. The. Da. Different words.
Back on topic, pretty please.

Terrific response to this job thus far, thanks.
One important thing: You MUST fill out the online application at the Media General Web site. I'm receiving numerous packets that don't have a corresponding application on file.
It is quick. It is easy. It is painless. It is required.

For the last week or so, Angela Watts has been covering Virginia Tech. Believe she was at the Washington Post for a long time. Wonder if she's in the mix for this gig?

I noticed that too, wondering the same thing.
