I love the show.

I'm not thrilled he's on it though. I hope he gets voted out first and then they can just go back to playing normally. Last season was one of the best ever and they don't need some gimmick like this to get people to watch.

I do respect that Johnson is a huge fan of the show. He was in the original celebrity cast that they pulled the plug on because it was too similar to some other show and they were convinced the celebs would quit rather than go the distance.

I don't watch Survivor. I'd consider it, but I'd hate to watch Johnson's Extenze commercials keep popping up throughout the show.

No. "Survivor" jumped the shark after about the third season. I know I'll get clobbered for that, but the show's novelty wore off quickly.

I agree on this. I stopped watching after Season 2, when they jumped right into the third season about a week later.

I love the show, and I will be interested to see how Jimmy Johnson does and how he acts.

I remember Jean-Robert the poker player being on and thought "wow, he might be a cool cat on here because he can read people." Turns out, he was nothing special at all.

I think he'll either be the first out or out the first time the old guys go to tribal, or he'll be around for awhile (either jury or just before jury).

I have watched part of one episode of Survivor - - the first year it was on and it was the TV show everyone talked about.

I have not watched since. I will not watch because Jimmy Johnson is on.

I doubt that there are too many things in the world that are "less real" than "Reality Television".

People categorize Survivor as "reality TV!!" the same way they categorized everything with guitars and a whiny singer as "Alternative!!!!' in the 1990s.

Survivor has never been Reality TV. It's a game show. Same goes for The Amazing Race, and in some ways, The Bachelor and its other incarnations. The object is ultimately to compete and win. It's not just cameras following people around during the (usually staged) events of everyday life.

Haven't watched the show since All-Stars, but I'm intrigued by the Oldies vs. Young'uns format of this one. May check it out.

I watch it for the same reason that I choose to watch other shows. They entertain me. It's that simple.

I think the over/under on how long he lasts is about 5.5. While it might be tempting to vote him out early, I also think people will be intimidated by him but mostly like him from what they think they "know" about him from TV. It's one thing to vote out someone nobody knows, but voting out someone who is on TV? Everyone is going to want to be his friend.
