About US Lacrosse
US Lacrosse provides a leadership role in virtually every aspect of the sport throughout the United States, and offers numerous programs and services to its national membership and more than one million lacrosse enthusiasts throughout the country.

US Lacrosse policy is determined by a national board of directors, the officers of which meet monthly to monitor the progress of the corporation. Men's and women's divisions under the board address issues specific to the play of each version of the game; councils within and/or between each division represent each constituency of the game; and committees throughout the organization focus on specific areas of operation.

General Description
Responsible for supporting and executing public relations and marketing initiatives. The Public Relations department manages all internal and external public relations activities for the organization.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in collecting and measuring media activities related to the organization and the sport, utilizing a clipping and media distribution service
• Write for various internal publications
• Write for various external publications
• Write press releases and other correspondence with media in order to communicate organizational messages to the public
• Establish and foster relationships with local and national members of the media
• Compile information for pitch calls
• Build specific contact lists
• Assist in new media ventures related to organization’s marketing and public relations goals
• Assist in marketing projects as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, sports marketing or business administration
• Ability to apply independent judgment, initiative to address problems and/or opportunities and develop practical, thorough and creative solutions
• Strong writing and interpersonal communications skills
• Must be tech savvy and have a strong understanding of social media tools including social networks, blogs, video networks and podcasts
• Microsoft office (Word, Excel, email) skills mandatory
• Must be willing to work occasional weekends (i.e. events, travel)
• Knowledge of lacrosse (participation or prior job) preferred
