I thought Gaga was tremendous, the highlight of the night. But like Boom, I can't help but find the tats jarring in the total presentation.

NPH should sue his writers.

I had wanted Keaton to get his due, but as I watched the presentation of the nominees in the category, I realized nobody but Redmayne could win that.

Oh, one more thing. I thought Teegan and Sara were singing Japanese until I noticed they didn't cover their mouths and titter after each stanza.

I agree that NPH was hamstrung with some really bad jokes. Reese With her spoon? Get it?

The one part I always look forward to is the In Memoriam, and they ****ed it up again with the stupid water colors, no film clips and the overly long Jennifer Hudson song that just happens to be from a TV show (Smash) produced by Zadan and Meron (shocker!).

Yeah, that's my favorite part too, and agree, it sucks how they do it now. Feels rushed, which is ironic in a 4-hour show. And I like the film clips, which seem like a better celebration of their than just still pics. Plus I liked hearing the audience give the top stars one final round of applause, which you don't hear anymore.

NPH had a lot of little quips that if you perverbally blinked you missed them. I liked it a lot better when he went off script. The moment he had with Steve Carell where NPH just lost it because Carell was actually playing along was great.

Did anyone else notice when they turned on the presenter mics the sound was really bad? There was this constant white noise that made it feel like you were sitting next to a speaker that was turned on too high.

It looked very much like the Teleprompter went out. He was pausing and saying this next film was amazing or something, and it sounded like he was building up to Selma but that wasn't the movie. Looked to me like he was stalling for time.

I thought that might be the problem. I wish he had admitted there was a teleprompter issue rather than pretending to be too choked up to speak.

Both should have been there. But, I agree, Ramis is the bigger snub since Rivers is better known for being on TV.

Rivers not so much. Was she even in movies? I think she wrote "Rabbit Test," with Billy Crystal as a pregnant man in the mid 1970s, but don't remember much else.
Should she be recognized for her red carpet work?

Negron should have been in there... They had a lot of actors and cinematographers that nobody outside of the business has heard of. I have no problem with those guys being honored, but they should take a few extra minutes and make sure nobody is snubbed.

It's so weird that they can't e we seem to get the In Memorium segment right. It's not like it's that hard to fact check who died this year.

I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga's intelligence and talent. However, I don't want to listen to anybody sing a Sound of Music medley. I found that one of the weirdest segments of the show. I'm assuming its inclusion was a reflection of Lady Gaga's ability to market herself.

Regardless, I don't think the inclusion of that segment had to do with Lady Gaga, unless you don't think the Academy could've gotten anybody else to sing the medley...like, say, Julie Andrews, who turned up, herself, at the Oscars, too, probably at the behest of the Academy.

I think it was just supposed to be a citing and celebration of the 50th anniversary of "The Sound of Music," and its 1965 Best Picture Oscar.
