RINGGOLD, GA — A Georgia teacher with an impressive teaching career is now facing prison time after being accused of having sex with a student.

Police charged Elizabeth Scroggs with felony sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority. She was charged because of an alleged sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student, The DaltonDailyCitizen reported .

Scroggs is being held at the county jail without bond.

Despite the teen reportedly consenting to the relationship, Capt. Rick Swiney told The DaltonDailyCitizen that someone with supervisory or disciplinary powers over another cannot have a relationship with person he or she is in charge of.

I agree. We rag on the "Everybody-wins-a-trophy" mindset around here but to me, these are all special women.

Especially 32-year-old Daresa Poe, sex education teacher at Waynoka High School in Oklahoma. Not only is she an early contender for the 2015 Most-Ironic-Poin-Educator-of-the-Year Award, she actually confessed in writing to tutoring her young charge in his truck, the teachers' lounge, etc. etc.

No more awkward, fun-killing "allegedly"s! Way to go Daresa! Hold that head up high as you walk on out of that courthouse (or jail or whatever!)
