I will not eat:

Coconut -- f%*king texture just grosses me out.
Bananas -- the smell just triggers something terrible in me; and yes I know I'm missing out on something good, just cannot do it.
Liver -- for every reason noted above
Beets -- Just gross texture and that red tincture staining all the other food on the plate; omg i'm gonna puke just thinking about it.

I'm right there with you on the banana smell s_g. I don't know why, but it's just awful to me.

Forgot to add to an earlier post that I don't eat sour cream, cottage cheese, eggsalad (but I like fried/sunny-side up eggs, scrambled eggs, omlettes) tunasalad (I like tuna in fish form, but not canned or mixed into a salad), chickensalad (chicken ground up and mixed with mayo is vile).

I'm pretty much the same way.

Hate any salad such as chicken, macaroni, potato, egg, tuna, etc. I just can't eat the stuff because I can't stand the taste/smell of them and I don't know what was mixed in. My grandma has about 249872407849087 different recipes for each, and I still won't eat the stuff. I'll even watch her make a salad and see everything she puts in it, and I still won't touch it.

And the weird thing? I love chicken, eggs, tuna, potatoes and macaroni. But I will not eat it if it's in a salad of some sort.

You are making me want to puke just thinking about it. Cold potatoes cut up and tossed into some yellow mayonaise and mustard concoction. I can't even look at it, let alone think about putting that into my mouth. Same with "chicken salad." Or "pasta salad."

Anything with bits of food tossed into some creamy mixture makes me want to hurl on the spot.

JR,
Try the brains scrambled into eggs and it tastes exactly like egg & sausage scramble. And there are some health benefits from them.

How many of you Chicagoans (pallister, I'm thinking of you in particular) pour creamed corn over your mashed potatoes? I wouldn't eat creamed corn alone or over anything, but that mixture looks like barf.

I can tell a South Sider must have been involved in the Sandra Bullock opus "While You Were Sleeping" because the Chicago Thanksgiving scene included every plate with creamed corn over mashed potatoes. Also, no one took off their coats in church.

THAT is a FANTASTIC idea!

I'm getting light-headed just thinking about Turkey Day.

If that's a serious one, I might try it--I'll just make sure HC isn't around.

Will I be smarter? :)

I don't let others control me, Sonner. As long as I can control my gag reflex (NO ONE POST THAT DAMN PICTURE) then I'm good.

Uh, yeah. I was joking. Hence the smiley face.

JR,
It is absolutely serious. My grandmother used to fix this all the time. Only thing is, I don't know if they used pork or beef. Just ask the guy in the meat department. One thing. Cook the mixture DONE. Don't soft scramble the eggs. If you like the flavor you can also add some diced potatoes, sort of like the omelet at Denny's made with potatoes and sausage or bacon. She used to serve this with homemade biscuits dressed with real butter and apple butter, and sometimes with cream gravy made with bacon or sausage "drippings" (as she called the residue).

This right here is good stuff -- this what the plate should look like at Thanksgiving. Ijag might want to cover her eyes.
