The short game they have is amazing; did you see the hole outs by Thomas and others? Rory’s on 18?

Pinehurst is an awesome experience if you can get there; did you see Morikawa use hybrid off the green? That’s pure Pinehurst baby (I watched a video before I got there and yeah it’s a great play green side from tight lies).

I’m rooting for Morikawa because he’s a Cal guy but also would like Xander to get that gorilla off his back.

Percolating that the Scheffler charges are expected to be dropped. Which I don’t think is a shock to anyone.

I would assume the district attorney really doesn't want the attention this case would bring if he/she presses what the arresting officer claims happened. However, I can't see the DA's office dropping the charges completely. Reducing them for a fine/community service? Yes.

That would be in line for the "misunderstanding."

But dropping the charges would undermine the police department's credibility, particularly the off-duty detective assigned to direct traffic who suddenly became unhinged. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry. Louisville and credibility in the same sentence caused an involuntary reaction.

A patrol officer having his credibility shredded from a situation like this is meh. A detective having his credibility shredded has effects on his active cases.

If I'm the prosecutor, I'm looking for away to make it go away quickly and with as little scrutiny as possible, and then personally wanting to ream the detective for putting all his work in jeopardy over some petty ****. The official story is already shaky. There's enough witnesses with different versions and he doesn't have his body camera on to corroborate his version. If something comes out showing he's full of ****, then you're getting into Giglio letter territory and not only is he no longer viable as a witness going forward you may have problems with past convictions. Everyone involved should want it to go away quickly and quietly.

Also, if a detective is in full uniform, as LMPD has claimed, he's either at a formal ceremony or working an overtime gig. I think we can all figure out which one it was here. Number One rule of off-duty/overtime duty shifts: Don't do stupid ****.

I noticed both Friday and Saturday that Scheffler was smiling as he talked with various police officers on the course and that they were smiling back. All quite amiable. Makes me wonder if the detective is all that popular with his fellow officers.
