Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for editing and maintenance of ESPN.com's home page. On a daily basis, assess content from a variety of sources (includes wire services, partners, ESPN staffers, freelancers, plus interactive elements, audio and video) to determine how it fits into our daily news coverage and programming needs. Writes all front page copy and headlines, selects all art and video, and works to package this content in a manner that is dynamic enough to entice users to delver deeper into the site. Must be excellent headline writer and be able to present and tell stories in a tight space. Must show good judgment in prioritizing all online content for a national audience, and incorporate the best content from the company’s various platforms.



Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of news editorial and reporting experience

• Competence in writing, editing and reporting

• Appreciation of popular culture and an understanding of the tastes of ESPN's audiences

• Excellent news judgment; understands assigned sport from a journalistic point of view

• Advanced understanding of HTML and related web-authoring tools and software

• Strong English grammar and excellent organizational skills

• Familiarity with most major Internet search engines and fluency in electronic newsgathering techniques

• Bachelors degree or higher in journalism, communications or a related field.

This one won't be out for long. Lot of guys with that experience looking. The question is whether or not they are are willing to move to Bristol, Ct?
